Young secondary will be critical

The Colts made several changes in the offseason, in an effort to build a team capable of finally toppling the Pats.

It's been an offseason of change for the Colts. Gone are TE Marcus Pollard and OLG Rick DeMulling (both to Detroit), FS Idrees Bashir and ORG Tupe Peko (both to Carolina), MLB Jim Nelson (Baltimore) and DE Brad Scioli.

The Colts initially decided not to re-sign unrestricted free-agent MLB Rob Morris, but injuries during offseason workouts persuaded the team to bring Morris back. Linebacker continues to be an unsettled position for the Colts. Former Morris backup Gary Brackett has been given the opportunity to be a starter. Brackett, undersized (5-foot-10, 235) and largely inexperienced, probably has more athletic skills than Morris and has impressed coaches with his work ethic.
