Pass the fried plantains, will ya?
Where, how and with whom NFL stars watch the Super Bowl
This article initially appeared in the February 8, 2010 "Fan Issue" of ESPN The Magazine.
What this is: Charles Curtis, a do-everything cog of ESPN The Magazine, called various NFL players NOT participating in the Super Bowl to find out how they're gonna do it up this Sunday. Here are the results. For more information on making Super Bowl Sunday a fun time for you and your friends, check out this piece from Eddie Matz.
Where I'll Watch: At a local bar owned by a friend in Waltham, Mass.
With whom: A mix of about six friends I played with in high school.
Devouring: Wings, quesadillas. I'm more of a mild guy when it comes to spice.
What I look for in the game: The movement of the offensive line -- if they move D-linemen off the ball, if they give good protection, etc.
My dream guests would be: Lil Wayne and Gucci Mane.
Don't think this should be Insider? You could be right. However, if you're a Texans fan, there's some interesting information on the other side of this pay wall -- something that could influence your season next year... hmmm.... go get it.
