Pro Football Weekly is hearing whispers that Lions WR Charles Rogers' playing time was diminishing even before his suspension.

Rookie WR Mike Williams was digging into Charles Rogers' playing time even before Rogers was suspended for four games prior to Week 5. Williams is bigger, stronger and a better blocker than Rogers, who has been a huge disappointment to the Lions' brass.

• One disappointing aspect of the Chiefs' offense that hasn't gotten much attention is the lack of impact from second-year TE Kris Wilson. The team had hoped to utilize his athleticism more in two-TE sets with Tony Gonzalez, but the expected mismatches have been hard to locate vs. a lot of nickel defenses they've faced.

• The Browns have had success with short, accurate passes on offense, but we're told offensive coordinator Maurice Carthon wouldn't mind going vertical more often in the coming weeks.
