Mark Sanchez's halted progression
The Jets may be starting to run out of luck, and that includes their young QB
Six weeks ago in this space, we looked at the New York Jets' 9-0 loss to the Green Bay Packers and made some predictions about their future. In light of the Jets' bumbling 10-6 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, it's time to check on those predictions. (On the other side of the field, it's time to recognize that one of the best defensive players in football resides in South Florida.)
But first, a closer look at that Jets.
In that earlier piece, we noted that the key to the Jets' 5-1 start had been dominance in the turnover margin, but we suggested that was likely to change. "The Jets have had outrageous fortune falling on loose balls this year," we wrote, adding, "All told, the Jets have recovered 71.4 percent of all fumbles this year. That's completely unsustainable."
To read more about why New York Jets fans should worry about the team and Mark Sanchez, as well as the dominance of Cameron Wake this year, you must be an ESPN Insider.
