When New Orleans isn't staked to a big lead, its defense is below-average

Defense wins championships, right?

Not always.

The 2009 New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl thanks to a juggernaut of an offense that masked their deficiencies on the other side of the ball. A year later, the offense has hit some bumps in the road, and the holes in the Saints' defense have been exposed. Meanwhile, the Atlanta Falcons look poised to take their crown as champions of the NFC South -- and maybe in the Super Bowl as well.
