Sharper should have several options

With free agency set to open Friday, Scouts Inc. takes a look at five players who are safe bets to deliver:

1. Richard Seymour, DE, Oakland Raiders
Seymour is a good bet to be a real difference-maker once again in 2010, but to be frank, I really have no idea what Oakland is doing with him and with its entire offseason approach in general thus far. But that is a much longer story for another day. Although Seymour, who was franchised, is custom-made for the defensive end in a 3-4 scheme, he is still a handful for offensive tackles when lined up on the edge in a 4-3 or as an interior player in the same scheme. Seymour could not have been real excited about getting shipped to Oakland from New England, but he continued to play at a high level against the run and pass, and handled his business like a true professional -- which is exactly what this future Hall of Famer is. We should expect more of the same in 2010.
