Scouts Inc. is breaking down each division in a roundtable discussion, with each scout offering his pick for the best offense and defense as well as the most important offseason move in the division. Here's the scouts' look at the AFC West.
Jeremy Green: The Oakland Raiders will be much improved, but the San Diego Chargers still have the best offense in the division. The Chargers ranked just 20th in total offense (315.3 ypg) but were fifth in scoring (25.8), and there's no reason to think things will be any different in 2008. They have phenomenal red zone weapons in RB LaDainian Tomlinson and TE Antonio Gates, and though San Diego's lack of a true No. 1 wide receiver prevents it from being an elite team, its offense is surely the best in what is one of the worst divisions in football.
