• Redskins observer said it's now fair to call the team's preseason acquisition of RB T.J. Duckett, who hasn't played since the Week 2 loss to Dallas, a "complete panic move" and estimates that Duckett could spend the rest of the season as a bystander.
• Rookie DE Mark Anderson is reminding the Bears why they were so excited about their fifth-rounder before a preseason hamstring injury. Despite seeing less than 20 snaps per game, Anderson leads all rookies with 5½ sacks and is using his elite speed and fresh legs to beat worn-out offensive linemen.
• Lost in the wake of Robert Gallery's much-publicized struggles at left tackle in Oakland are the problems Langston Walker is having at right tackle. Walker, who played at guard last season but was shifted to tackle by new head coach Art Shell, has trouble playing in space and could give way to OLG Barry Sims before long.
