When an NFL campaign begins with a team making a change at starting quarterback only a week before its season opener, as the Jacksonville Jaguars did when coach Jack Del Rio abruptly replaced Byron Leftwich with David Garrard, it doesn't augur very well for the level of stability at the game's most critical position.
