Maybe Matt Millen doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. His work in Detroit as the president and general manager of the Lions screams for criticism and skepticism.
That aside, I believe Rod Marinelli was an inspired, courageous hire by Millen and the Lions.
Monte Kiffin, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator who has worked with Marinelli for 10 years, shared with me a revealing observation about the new Lions coach.
