In my second first-round projection of the 2002 NFL draft, Fresno State quarterback David Carr is the overall first pick (to the expansion Houston Texans).
Carr rises to the top in my mock draft on the strength of his highly impressive performance at the Senior Bowl. Carr demonstrated a quick release with tremendous velocity and accuracy. He possesses excellent touch, timing and precision. He also has the presence and leadership qualities that a QB needs.
