Two of the most surprising developments in the NFL so far have been the success of the Texans and the struggles of the Saints. I've reviewed the game tapes of both teams to better understand their performance this season.

Houston Texans

Matt Schaub's passing statistics are almost identical to David Carr's numbers after two games last year, but the difference between the two actually is quite significant. Take a look at Carr's totals by route depth after his first two games in 2006:
