For the second straight week the Indianapolis Colts will come into a game with the No. 1-ranked pass defense. I saw their last two games on television and they looked solid, but I wanted to go into the film room this week and see what was making the difference for them this year.
The Colts came into the 2007 season with some question marks in the secondary. Gone from last season are veteran corners Nick Harper and Jason David. New starters Marlin Jackson and Kelvin Hayden had some starting experience, but were never full time starters at corner. Colts president and general manager Bill Polian and head coach Tony Dungy do an outstanding job of identifying talent. They were able to identify two players that fit the Cover 2 scheme to a tee in Jackson and Hayden.
