ESPN NFL Insider Mike Sando went to Orlando, Florida, to watch Jon Gruden's QB Camp taping with Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron. Sando has written up Gruden's biggest takeaways from the interview and throwing sessions, in Gruden's voice.

1. McCarron reminds me of my old quarterback, Brad Johnson.

Everybody calls McCarron a game manager. That's fine by me. When I was coaching Tampa Bay, we won a Super Bowl with one of the great game managers I've ever been around in Brad Johnson. He got it done in the pocket, he got it done with great preparation and when a throw had to be made, he made it. The bigger the game, the better he played. Unfortunately, I didn't get Brad Johnson in enough big games. But AJ is similar to him in a lot of ways.
