(Editor's note: Ra'Shede Hageman was incorrectly left off this list when the article was first published. He has since been added at No. 19.)
There was a time shortly after the season ended when I would have been surprised if Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald made his way into the first round. But I don't think there's a prospect who has improved his stock more with his postseason draft process performance to this point -- he was unblockable at the Senior Bowl, and then he had the best overall workout of any defensive lineman at the NFL scouting combine. And the more tape we study of him, the more we like him, as he has now risen to No. 12 in our Top 32 rankings.
He's one of a few players who continue their rise up our board this week. Here is our latest ranking of the 32 best prospects for the 2014 NFL draft.
(Note: The scouting reports will largely stay the same for each edition of these rankings, but we'll update as needed based on news developments. Draft-eligible non-seniors are noted with an asterisk.)
1. Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina
Clowney has a freakish combination of length, initial burst and power as a pass-rusher, and he is a highly disruptive run defender. His straight-line speed (4.53 40-yard dash) is rare for a guy his size. He will have some questions to answer at his pro day and in individual interviews with teams, but I'm not anticipating any issues there, and he is the clear No. 1 prospect in this class from a talent standpoint. Previous rank: 1
2. Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn
Robinson is the most dominant blocker at the point of attack that I've ever evaluated on tape. He'll need time to develop as a pass-blocker, but he is remarkably athletic for his big frame and has the potential to be a very good pass protector in time -- and the raw tools to hold his own in that area right away. Previous rank: 2
3. Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo
Mack has an ideal combination of height, weight, hand size, arm length and speed, and he was an incredibly productive player in college. His versatility as a guy who can provide support in pass coverage, run defense or as a pass-rusher adds to his value. Previous rank: 3
