2013 Jaguars NFL draft guide
Examining Jacksonville's draft history and potential picks this year
Insider's NFL and draft experts -- Todd McShay, Mel Kiper, Chris Sprow and Field Yates -- have teamed up to give a full breakdown of all that should be considered for each team as it enters the 2013 NFL draft. Here we look at the Jacksonville Jaguars.
QB, DE, CB, DT
Major need: There are many on this roster, and quarterback Blaine Gabbert's job security isn't a given, but the Jaguars need to start by upgrading the pass rush for new head coach Gus Bradley, the lone head coaching hire this offseason with a defensive background. The draft offers a number of defensive linemen with pass rushing production, and the Jaguars ought to be interested at pick two. J.J. Watt had more sacks than the Jaguars as a team last year (20.5 to 20).
Quiet need: Safety is a quiet need only in the sense that the Jaguars have more obvious needs to fill above it, but it's still an area that needs major addressing. Dawan Landry was released, leaving Chris Prosinski, Dwight Lowery, Antwon Blake and Alan Ball as the potential safeties on the roster. Given the depth of the position in this year's draft, this could be a target area for Jacksonville at the top of the middle rounds.
