Here's a look at the top five junior prospects at each position:

Quarterbacks

1. Sam Bradford, Oklahoma

2. Jevan Snead, Mississippi

3. Jimmy Clausen, Notre Dame

4. Jake Locker, Washington

5. Case Keenum, Houston

Analysis: Snead faces an early mandate on his talent when he heads to South Carolina on Thursday. It'll be a huge test. Locker helped drive Washington to an upset of USC, but, as noted in Personnel Points, Locker is very much a work in progress. Refinement of his technique is important.

Running backs

1. Jahvid Best, California

2. Jonathan Dwyer, Georgia Tech

3. Joe McKnight, USC

4. Evan Royster, Penn St.

5. Kendall Hunter, Oklahoma St.

Analysis: Dwyer was a total nonfactor against Miami, with five rushes for 7 yards, and sustained a stinger that limited him. Best, on the other hand, may have leaped to the head of the Heisman discussion with a scintillating performance against Minnesota.
