Examining the Panthers' draft profile
This is a well-run, but quiet front office without a lot of drama or turmoil. General manager Marty Hurney and head coach John Fox seem to have a great working relationship and they may be more in sync than any other duo in the league. They build through the draft and avoid over spending in free agency. They also both watch a lot of film and personally work out players, so they have an informed opinion on all seven rounds of the draft. Scouting director John Gregory sets the draft board, gathers information and he will be consulted on draft decisions, but this is a Hurney-Fox power structure with input that is valued from the coaches and scouts.
