Mel's take on the QB debate

This week, Mel Kiper, Jr., focused on quarterbacks, but little has changed in his ranking of the signal callers. In fact, he's made it a point to reiterate -- over and over -- that the Lion should select Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford with the first overall pick.
THE CASE FOR STAFFORD
The debate raged on from past weeks with Kiper and Todd McShay: Is Stafford a worthy No. 1 pick for the Detroit Lions? McShay thinks there's a good chance Stafford won't be an elite NFL quarterback, although he has him ranked as the eighth best player in the draft. But Kiper responded, "All I can say is, Todd, if you think Matthew Stafford is worthy of being a top 10 pick, then you think he can be one heck of a starting quarterback."To continue reading this article you must be an Insider
