Senior Bowl week helped some players' draft stock, while hurting others. Scouts Inc. goes position by position and ranks the players who were in Mobile, Ala.
Not one of these six players took advantage of their opportunity to woo scouts this week. We list Pat White as the top prospect here because we think he'll be the first to come off the board from this group, but his future is at receiver and his decision not to take some snaps there this week hurt his draft stock. Though Rhett Bomar showed the best arm strength, he also showed an unorthodox release and inconsistent accuracy. Harper lost the strike zone too much, while John Parker Wilson and Nate Brown aren't tall enough to develop into effective pocket passers at the NFL level. All of that said, the biggest disappointment of the week had to be Graham Harrell. He didn't put great zip on passes thrown outside the hash marks and is clearly going to need some time to adjust to taking snaps from under center.
With more and more offenses spreading the field and motioning tight ends into the backfield, fullbacks are somewhat of a dying breed in the NFL. However, Tony Fiammetta showed he has the toughness, size and power to develop into an effective lead blocker for a team like Baltimore. He's also a reliable possession receiver. Eric Kettani is a tweener who runs hard between the tackles but isn't quick enough to consistently turn the corner at the NFL level and needs to get stronger as a blocker. Quinn Johnson, on the other hand, is a one-dimensional lead blocker. While he caught the ball fairly well this week, he isn't quick enough to separate from NFL linebackers on a consistent basis and he offers little as a runner.
