Matchups between two top prospects or a highly rated individual and an outstanding unit on the other side of the ball always make a scout sit up in his chair and take notice, even after hours spent poring over game film. Such matchups have arguably the greatest impact on a player's draft status, and here are five that caught my eye over the weekend:

North Carolina's offense vs. Virginia Tech OLB Xavier Adibi
Adibi's performance helped the Hokies avoid what could have been a crushing loss to the Tar Heels in Virginia Tech's ACC opener. And it also came on a weekend that saw several ranked teams fall, so Virginia Tech moved back into the top 15 of the AP poll. Late in the third quarter Adibi showed great focus, body control and hands when intercepting a pass that had been tipped by the receiver. He then used his quickness and vision to get the ball to the North Carolina 12-yard line.
