QB showdowns, Trojans-'Huskers top the weekend

There are top QB battles all over the country, but USC-Nebraska is the matchup that has NFL scouts most interested, writes Todd McShay.

This week's slate of college football games provides some intriguing quarterback battles as it relates to the 2008 NFL draft class. It doesn't get any better than the one Lexington, Ky., between Louisville's Brian Brohm and Kentucky's Andre Woodson. As it stands right now, Brohm and Woodson are the top two quarterbacks on my draft board with Woodson receiving the slightly higher grade of the two. Here are a few more quarterback showdowns that NFL scouts will be monitoring (juniors noted with an asterisk):

• USC's John David Booty vs. Nebraska's Sam Keller
• Boston College's Matt Ryan vs. Georgia Tech's Taylor Bennett*
• Louisiana Tech's Zac Champion vs. Cal's Nate Longshore*
• Fresno State's Tom Brandstater* vs. Oregon's Dennis Dixon
• Stanford's T.C. Ostrander vs. San Jose State's Adam Tafralis
• Marshall's Bernard Morris vs. New Hampshire's Ricky Santos

But the quarterback pairing isn't the only reason NFL scouts will be flocking to Lincoln, Neb., this weekend. There are 35 eligible prospects -- 18 seniors and 17 juniors -- playing in Saturday night's USC-Nebraska game that warrant draft consideration. The following is a list of seniors I gave "draftable" grades to after studying them on film during the offseason:
