Russell still projects to go No. 1 overall

My latest first-round projection still has JaMarcus Russell going to Oakland with the No. 1 pick. After that, it's anyone's guess. Defensive end Gaines Adams could go to Detroit with the second pick. But if the Lions take WR Calvin Johnson or QB Brady Quinn, that will set off a trickle down effect throughout the first round.

Mock drafts will change on a daily basis based on several factors: conversations with teams; information I'm constantly receiving; free-agent signings; as well as a gut feeling. So what the first-round projection looks like today might be a lot different in the days leading up to the draft.

My next projection will be April 24, with a final projection on April 27, one day before the draft.
