Past incidents raise red flags

Prospects like QB Marcus Vick and DT Dusty Dvoracek might pay for past mistakes on draft day.

In addition to determining whether a prospect has the ability to excel at the next level, NFL teams also devote a great deal of time evaluating the temperamant of each player in the draft. Off-the-field incidents in college certainly weigh in the minds of general managers.

This year's draft features a number of players with past transgressions worth noting. Our scouts have identified all the prospects with character questions, and project what round they are likely to hear their names called.

Winston Justice, OT, USC (First)
Justice was arrested and sentenced to probation after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor count of solicitation of prostitution in July of 2003. Unfortunately, his problems with the law didn't end there. He was also charged with three misdemeanor counts of exhibiting a replica firearm in March of 2004. The court sentenced him to 60 days of electronic monitoring as well as three years probation, and the school's Student Affairs Department suspended him for two semesters as a result.
