South's perimeter players impressive
The two things that stood out most during Tuesday's split practice schedule at the Senior Bowl are the South's superior level of talent from top-to-bottom on their roster and the marginal overall quarterback play.
A couple of South QBs, however, did impress. Auburn's Jason Campbell stands out as the best quarterback prospect on the South roster and he really looks the part physically. He has a great frame, is a fluid athlete, shows the arm strength to make all the throws at the NFL level, and he clearly is playing with much improved confidence. However, Campbell continues to struggle when asked to read the entire field and make progression reads from within the pocket. While quick and smooth, Campbell is not a huge threat to run. Furthermore, he is very effective throwing while rolling out to the right but he's not nearly as effective when rolling out and throwing across his body.
