Some of the highest-rated underclassmen on the 2012 NFL draft board won't get a chance to shine against top competition during bowl season, robbing them of the opportunity to rise to the challenge in what could be their final game-action auditions in front of NFL scouts.
The perfect example is the Tostito's Fiesta Bowl. In that game, Stanford's first-round trio of QB Andrew Luck, OT Jonathan Martin and G David DeCastro will square off against a mediocre Oklahoma State defense, while Cowboys WR Justin Blackmon has a clear advantage against the Cardinal's secondary.
So which underclassmen DO have a chance to improve their stock with strong showings against other NFL prospects? This week's edition of the Nickel Package looks at five who fit that category, including a trio of big-name running backs.
