Tigers, Tide boast impressive prospects
As we look toward this week's showdown between No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Alabama, one of the things that stands out as I scout this game is the impressive amount of future NFL talent on both rosters.
I talked with some fellow scouts over the weekend about this week's game and some of the greatest college football rosters ever, and one team that kept coming up was the 2001 Miami Hurricanes, who might well be the gold standard from a talent standpoint. By my count, the Hurricanes' national title team from that year included 17 players who became first-round draft picks, and 38 players overall who were drafted.
Who are the top prospects taking the field? How many players from each team are NFL prospects? ESPN Insiders get the answers.
