Mathews showing versatility
Fresno State RB Ryan Mathews (5-foot-11⅝, 218 pounds) is a fierce competitor on film so it came as little surprise that he decided to run the 40-yard dash at his pro day despite posting an excellent time of 4.45 seconds at the combine. Mathews ran 4.48 and 4.49 in his work out and also caught the ball well during position drills, which is important because . We have concerns about his ability to contribute as a receiver early in his career given the limited role he played in the passing game in college but is starting to show the ability to be an effective receiver.
