Nose tackles important for 3-4 defenses

Earlier this week ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that San Francisco will place the franchise tag on NT Aubrayo Franklin, and Schefter has also reported that New England is expected to do the same with NT Vince Wilfork and Pittsburgh could franchise NT Casey Hampton.

All of that should come as little surprise because these teams run 3-4 schemes and know just how hard it is to find quality nose tackles to anchor the interior of their defenses.
