Trying week for Vikings' D

If the Vikings' defense plays well against the Jaguars Sunday, it deserves a medal. Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier had to rework his game-planning schedule to be with defensive end Jared Allen, who was in New York on Tuesday to talk the league out of suspending him for a hit on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Allen ended up just getting a $25,000 fine, but Frazier lost a valuable day of planning. Defensive tackles Pat and Kevin Williams spent all of Thursday at the NFL offices. Both players were facing possible four-game suspensions because of a substance that was found in diet pills they were taking. Kevin Williams' meeting lasted all afternoon. Pat Williams' went well into the night. Both had to return for Friday's practice and a Saturday departure for Jacksonville. Focusing on the game won't be easy.
