Tom Coughlin may keep his job after all. The Giants ownership has been in a two-day evaluation process, and as of Tuesday, the owners haven't decided whether to give Coughlin another year to coach.

By surviving Tuesday, though, Coughlin has a chance to stay. First, it's going to be hard for the Mara and Tisch families to hire a general manager and a coach at the same time. Had they had a general manager in place after Ernie Accorsi's retirement, the story for Coughlin might be different. But the Giants are in the early stages of a general manager hunt. Without a GM to pick the coach, it starts to make sense to keep Coughlin around after two playoff seasons. A decision could come by Wednesday or Thursday.

Raiders get offensive: Al Davis hasn't interviewed offensive coordinator John Shoop yet, but it's clear he's going to hire an offensive coach.
