Q: Do you think Tom Coughlin's job is at risk if the New York Giants miss the playoffs? I know their second-half schedule is tougher, but Giants fans won't forgive him after a 6-2 start.
-- Samantha (La.)
A: Tough one, Samantha. Coughlin is one of the best coaches, and men, in football. He is a proven winner. Saying that, if the Giants struggle down the stretch and fail to make the playoffs, there is going to be a lot of pressure on the organization, and team owners are going to have to contemplate bringing in a coach such as Bill Cowher. It will be one of the most difficult decisions the Mara and Tisch families have to make, and it's hard now to say how it will go because there are so many different ways that the season could play out. But if the Giants fail to make the postseason, the fairest thing to say right now is that the team owners will consider a change.
