Hakeem Flowers now holding over 30 offers

ESPNU 150 Watch List athlete Hakeem Flowers (Greenville, S.C./Wade Hampton) has recently been offered by Notre Dame, Oklahoma State and UCLA.

The Class of 2011 standout is now holding over 30 scholarship offers. Miami-FL, LSU, Tennessee and Florida State are among his early favorites.

As a junior, he posted 800 receiving yards, 250 rushing yards and scored eight touchdowns.

Flowers registered a 4.69 40-yard dash on a slow surface, 33-inch vertical and 4.5 20-yard shuttle at the 2010 National Under Armour Combine in Orlando.

Seantrel Henderson commits to USC, waiting to sign letter of intent

Five-star offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham) made a verbal commitment to the Trojans Wednesday night.

However, Sean Henderson, Seantrel's father, informed the New York Times that his son will wait to sign a letter of intent until after USC appears before the NCAA infractions committee beginning Feb. 19th.

The NCAA and Pacific 10 Conference are investigating reports that former USC Trojan and current New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush received improper benefits from sports marketers in 2005.

Henderson, the nation's No. 1-rated offensive lineman, has until April 1st to sign.

Under Armour All-American safety Dietrich Riley (La Canada, Calif./St. Francis) picked the Bruins live on ESPNU.

USC, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Florida and LSU were among Riley's other suitors.

"We have a great recruiting class and I can't wait to start playing with these guys. I have big goals for myself and our team. I want to make freshman All-American and I want UCLA to win the Pac 10 and compete for National Championships. Mostly though, I just want to win, I want to win a lot of games and I'm so relieved to get this decision out of the way and put all the stress behind me," he said.

As expected Christian Jones joins the family tradition at Florida State

Under Armour All-American outside linebacker Christian Jones (Oviedo, Fla./Lake Howell) signed with Florida State live on ESPNU Wednesday.

The Seminoles topped Florida, Alabama and Notre Dame for the ESPNU 150 talent.

His brother and father, both named Willie Jones, played for Florida State.

Coveted offensive tackle Matt James (Cincinnati/St. Xavier) has signed with Notre Dame over Ohio State, ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com reports.

"It was neck and neck between Ohio State and Notre Dame the whole time," James said. "I really liked the opportunity coming into the program and starting something new. It's the start of a program turning it around with coach Kelly, and being in that first recruiting class is something that is going to be unique and special."

Notre Dame tops TCU for ex-Colorado pledge Danny Spond

Three-star athlete Danny Spond (Littleton, Colo./Columbine) selected Notre Dame over TCU following an official visit to South Bend this weekend, ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com reports.

"Playing for Notre Dame is a true honor," Spond said. "I have been blessed by god for this opportunity. Coach Kelly is not only an awesome coach, but a great man. I look forward to being apart of the Notre Dame tradition. It's my next home. I have god to thank for it and my ability."

Stanford, Duke and Wyoming also offered Spond, who originally committed to Colorado.

He accounted for 883 yards and 14 touchdowns before having his season cut short by a head injury.

Luke Massa (Cincinnati/St. Xavier) decommitted from Cincinnati for Notre Dame during an official visit to campus this weekend, ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com reports.

"The big thing for Luke and with my program at St. Xavier, is to make sure he contacted the University of Cincinnati," coach Steve Specht said. "Yes he met with coach Kelly this morning, committed and fulfilled a lifelong dream of playing football for them."

Massa completed 67-percent of his attempts this fall for 1,800 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Three-star running back Brandon Bourbon swaps Stanford for Jayhawks

Brandon Bourbon, a 6-foot-2, 205- pound running back out of Potosi, Mo., has picked Kansas for the Class of 2010.

The three-star prospect decommitted from the Stanford Cardinal. He also considered Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, BYU, Kansas State, Missouri and Harvard.

"The big thing was the distance," Bourbon told ESPN affiliate Web site TheShiver.com. "I thought at first I would be tough and deal with the distance, but I started think that if I came to KU, my parents would be able to come to a lot of games or at least see them on T.V."

Notre Dame swipes Derek Roback away from Toledo

Senior Derek Roback (Waverly, Ohio) has switched his commitment from Toledo to Notre Dame after an official visit, ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com reports.

"This place is even more amazing than I thought," Roback said in a text message. "I'm excited to get up here and get working. At this point right now, I think we're looking at an h-back type deal. Like (Ben) Guidugli at Cincinnati."

Cincinnati, Ball State, Bowling Green, Marshall, Miami-OH and Ohio, where his father Matt played quarterback, also offered.

Roback passed for 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior. He also rushed for four scores and caught two touchdown passes while playing receiver for three games due to a hand injury.

Bruce Heggie accepts offer from the Fighting Irish

Recruited as a defensive end, Bruce Heggie (Mount Dora, Fla.) received a scholarship offer from Notre Dame during a weekend official visit and committed.

"I'm going to Notre Dame," Heggie told ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com.

He registered four sacks and caught 16 passes for 160 yards and three touchdowns as a senior earning first team all-county honors.

Heggie's father, Bruce, played football at Florida State.
