A 6-foot-3, 230-pound defensive end/tight end, Austin Teitsma of Glenbard South (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) has chosen Illinois.

Ball State, Indiana and Northern Illinois also offered.

"They have been recruiting him since the end of his sophomore year," Glenbard South coach Dan Starkey told the Chicago Tribune. "They offered him a little late, but he's glad they did."

Houston (6-foot-1, 170-pounds) picked the Golden Hurricane over Indiana, Kent State and Toledo.

Florida running back Tahj Kimble commits to Boston College

A three-star prospect, Tahj Kimble of Fernandina Beach, Fla., has pledged to Boston College for the Eagles' Class of 2010.

Kimble, a 5-foot-11, 200-pound running back, was also recruited by Michigan State, Cincinnati, Purdue, Minnesota, Indiana, Iowa State, Buffalo, Middle Tennessee State, Tulane and Florida Atlantic.

He posted a 4.73 40-yard dash, 4.57 20-yard shuttle, 7.42 three-cone drill, 33.5-inch vertical and 9-foot-4 broad jump at the Jacksonville Under Armour Combine.

Athlete Ean Days of Camden County (Kingsland, Ga.) has made a Class of 2010 decision to sign with Illinois of the Big Ten.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Days chose the Illini over Indiana, Central Florida and Vanderbilt.

Days rushed for 1,350 yards and 15 touchdowns as a running back during his senior season. He also returned two of nine kickoffs for touchdowns.

Defensive lineman Jibreel Black drops Cincinnati for Wolverines

Heavily-recruited three-star defensive end Jibreel Black of Cincinnati, Ohio/Wyoming HS (Wyoming, Ohio), has pledged to Michigan after decommitting from the Bearcats.

Holding over 20 offers from major programs, Black had chosen Cincinnati after withdrawing his original pledge to Indiana.

He also has offers from Michigan State, Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin, Kansas, Minnesota, North Carolina State, South Carolina, South Florida and West Virginia, among others.

The 6-foot-2, 260-pound Black's older brother Larry starts for the Hoosiers at defensive tackle.

The Hawkeyes snare Ohio defensive back Anthony Hitchens

Recruited as a safety, Anthony Hitchens of Clearview (Lorain, Ohio) has accepted a Class of 2010 offer from Iowa.

The 6-foot-0, 195-pound prospect was also offered by Kansas, Indiana, Akron and Eastern Michigan.

As a senior, Hitchens rushed for over 1400 yards and 21 touchdowns. He had 76 tackles and two interceptions on defense.

Hitchens is the 20th commitment for the Hawkeyes.

Linebacker Steve Mehrer to play in-state for the Golden Flashes

Steve Mehrer, a 6-foot-1, 225-pound linebacker from Jerome (Dublin, Ohio), has given Kent State a Class of 2010 commitment.

Among his other offers were Indiana, Marshall, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Toledo and Eastern Michigan.

As a junior, Mehrer recorded 130 tackles while also rushing for almost 800 yards.

He posted a 4.41 20-yard shuttle, 30.9-inch vertical and 37-foot power throw at the Cincinnati Nike Combine.

Safety/linebacker Xavius Boyd of Lakewood (St. Petersburg, Fla.) has committed to Western Kentucky for the Class of 2010.

His brother, Bar'ee, also chose the Hilltoppers.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Xavius chose WKU over offers from Iowa State, Florida International, Indiana and South Alabama.

Joseph Byrd of Baker (Cape Coral, Fla.) has given a Class of 2010 commitment to Arkansas.

Recruited as a cornerback, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound Byrd was also offered by Connecticut, Indiana, Iowa State, Kentucky, Florida International, Louisville, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Minnesota and Purdue.

He posted a 4.41 40-yard dash, 4.63 20-yard shuttle, 7.66 three-cone drill and 28.5-inch vertical at the Orlando Under Armour Combine following his junior season.

Safety Ty Scott of Palmetto, Fla., has committed to Western Kentucky for the Class of 2010.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Scott chose the Hilltoppers over offers from Iowa State, Indiana, Louisville, Purdue and Michigan State.

Western Kentucky now has seven pledges.
