340-pound lineman Spencer Region picks Auburn Tigers for 2011

From Cullman, Ala., mammoth offensive lineman Spencer Region has given the Tigers a commitment for the Class of 2011 over Alabama.

The 6-foot-5 Region also considered early offers from Florida State, Mississippi, Wake Forest and Alabama-Birmingham.

"It was a hard decision," Region told ESPN affiliate Web site AuburnUndercover.com. "A lot of things changed with my heart at Alabama. Due to some stuff that was said and done, I just knew Auburn was my place. They made my decision easy. I'm just glad I'm part of the Auburn family now."

He joins receiver Izauea Lanier of East Mississippi CC, Miss., as 2011 pledges for Auburn.

Hakeem Flowers now holding over 30 offers

ESPNU 150 Watch List athlete Hakeem Flowers (Greenville, S.C./Wade Hampton) has recently been offered by Notre Dame, Oklahoma State and UCLA.

The Class of 2011 standout is now holding over 30 scholarship offers. Miami-FL, LSU, Tennessee and Florida State are among his early favorites.

As a junior, he posted 800 receiving yards, 250 rushing yards and scored eight touchdowns.

Flowers registered a 4.69 40-yard dash on a slow surface, 33-inch vertical and 4.5 20-yard shuttle at the 2010 National Under Armour Combine in Orlando.

ESPNU 150 safety Demar Dorsey of Boyd Anderson (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) has signed with Michigan over Florida State and Southern California.

He had been committed to the Florida Gators since his junior year, but parted ways just days before National Signing Day.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Dorsey has a cousin, freshman quarterback Denard Robinson, at Michigan.

The Seminoles topped Florida, Alabama and Notre Dame for the ESPNU 150 talent.

His brother and father, both named Willie Jones, played for Florida State.

The Scarlet Knights and head coach Greg Schiano have captured a huge Class of 2010 commitment in Leto (Tampa, Fla.) defensive standout Jeremy Deering over Florida State.

Deering (6-foot-1, 195-pounds) also considered South Carolina, Illinois and Purdue.

Among his other offers were Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oregon State, South Florida, Syracuse, Central Florida and West Virginia.

Deering played quarterback, wide receiver, running back and safety at Leto. He is expected to start out at safety for Rutgers.

Smith originally committed to the Volunteers prior to the coaching change.

Illinois, North Carolina, LSU, Florida, Notre Dame, Auburn, Miami-FL, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Purdue, Pittsburgh and Arkansas were among his other offers.
