Peach State receiver Darqueze Dennard to the Spartans

Wide receiver Darqueze Dennard (Jeffersonville, Ga./Twiggs County) committed to Michigan State Wednesday night, ESPN affiliate Web site SpartanTailgate.com reports.

"I felt good about the coaches and felt at home with the players and thought it was a good fit," Dennard said. "I'm very excited. They have great fans, great coaches, great players, and am glad to be a Spartan."

Middle Tennessee State and Utah State also offered the 5-foot-11, 165-pound senior.

JUCO Durrell Finch to the Golden Hurricane

Tulsa has received a Class of 2010 commitment from Durrell Finch, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end at Chabot CC, Calif.

Originally from Castro Valley, Calif., he also had offers from Hawaii, Utah State and Memphis.

Finch had 55 tackles during the 2009 season, including 12.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks.

Owls to bring in JUCO pass-catcher

Receiver Darryl Shine, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound prospect from Jones (Orlando, Fla.)/Fullerton CC, Calif., has agree to sign with Temple's recruiting Class of 2010.

Wyoming, Arkansas State, Middle Tennessee State and Utah State also offered.

Shine caught 34 passes for 548 yards and three touchdowns during the 2009 season.

California picks up Long Beach Poly product Kaelin Clay

Senior receiver Kaelin Clay (Long Beach, Calif./Poly) has committed to the in-state Cal Bears, ESPN's Greg Biggins reports.

Clay made an official visit to Hawaii last weekend and was scheduled to visit Fresno State. Utah State also extended a scholarship offer.

"I had a great time on the visit and when they decided to offer me a scholarship, I basically committed almost on the spot. I told myself before the visit that if Cal offered and I was comfortable there, I would go ahead and jump on it and that's what happened. I talked with Coach (Jeff) Tedford and he's a real good guy. They have some big plans for me and I'm excited to be a Bear," he said.

Clay caught 24 passes for 459 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing for 548 yards and six more scores this fall.

Ball-carrier Deon Hill selects Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech has added a commitment from Deon Hill, a 6-foot-0, 195-pound running back from Central (Phenix City, Ala.), for the recruiting Class of 2010.

Tulane and Utah State also offered.

He rushed for 1,587 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior.

New Mexico State adds to offensive line with Dylan Lusk from Arizona

305-pound offensive lineman Dylan Lusk of Centennial (Peoria, Ariz.) has accepted a Class of 2010 scholarship offer from the Aggies.

Among his other offers were UNLV and Utah State.

Timpview quarterback Trevor Brown is headed to Utah State

6-foot-5, 210-pound quarterback Trevor Brown of Timpview (Provo, Utah) has committed to the Utah State Aggies. BYU and LSU had offered preferred walk-on status.

"Every time I've been up to Utah State," he told the Deseret News, "I always got the feeling that it was the place for me."

Brown led the Thunderbirds to the 4A state championship as a senior (their fourth straight title). He passed for 2,180 yards and 23 touchdowns, and rushed for 854 yards and 17 scores.

Brown plans to serve his two-year LDS Church mission before enrolling at Utah State.

Long Beach athlete Ezell Ruffin accepts offer from the Aztecs

San Diego State has landed versatile athlete Ezell Ruffin of Wilson (Long Beach, Calif.) for the Class of 2010.

Ruffin, 6-foot-0, 185-pounds, was recruited as a receiver/kick returner. He may also be used in Wildcat direct snap situations.

As a senior, he rushed for 758 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also caught 21 passes for 301 yards and four scores. On returns, he averaged 21.5 yards and 18.1 on punts.

Ruffin also had offers from New Mexico, UNLV and Utah State. He drew late interest from Nebraska, Washington and Arizona State.

Linebacker Chris Fox set for Utah State

Chris Fox (Scottsdale, Ariz./Chaparral) committed to sign with the Aggies Sunday, the Deseret News reports.

Nevada, Northern Arizona and Montana State also extended scholarship offers.

Utah State snares California wide receiver Shaan Johnson

Shaan Johnson, who caught 76 passes for 1451 yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior for Gahr (Cerritos, Calif.), has committed to head coach Gary Anderson and the Aggies.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect also has offers from Kansas State, Utah and Nevada.

Utah State has 21 pledges for the Class of 2010.
