A 6-foot-2, 300-pound offensive lineman, O. C. Brown of Manassas (Memphis, Tenn.) has made his Class of 2010 decision to play for Southern Mississippi.

Colorado, Kentucky, Arkansas State, Marshall and Middle Tennessee State have also offered the three-star standout.

He is the 21st commitment for the Golden Eagles.

Bulldogs add three-star inside linebacker Ferlando Bohanna

From Whitehaven (Memphis, Tenn.), ILB Ferlando Bohanna has committed to Mississippi State's Class of 2010, ESPN affiliate Web site BullDawgJunction.com reports.

The 6-foot, 236-pound prospect was also offered by Clemson, North Carolina, Middle Tennessee State and Southern Miss.

"(Mississippi State) just made me feel comfortable and recruited me the hardest. I saw how their program is changing and how great that atmosphere is at Mississippi State. So I figured why wait any longer," Bohanna said.

He recorded 98 tackles, including 10 tackles for loss, as a junior earing all-city recognition. This fall, he's posted 81 tackles, eight tackles for loss, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Bohanna is the 15th commitment for head coach Dan Mullen and Mississippi State.

Memphis kicker Corey Acosta decides to play for Golden Eagles

Southern Mississippi has collected a Class of 2010 commitment from Corey Acosta, a 5-foot-11, 160-pound kicking prospect from Christian Brothers (Memphis, Tenn.).

He was also sought by Memphis.

The Golden Eagles have 20 pledges.

Arkansas lineman Chase Petersen to play for Louisville

Three-star 6-foot-3, 280-pound offensive lineman Chase Petersen of Bentonville, Ark., has accepted a Class of 2010 offer from the Cardinals.

He was also offered by Southern Mississippi, Tulane and North Texas.

"I visited Louisville in August and went to others here and there, and every time, I kept thinking about Louisville," Petersen told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. "The school, the environment, the coaches. I liked it all."

Louisville has 17 commitments.

Southern Methodist has added a commitment from Ashton Duhe, a three-star 6-foot-3, 290-pound offensive lineman from Destrehan, La., for the Class of 2010.

He is currently holding other offers from Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe and Southern Mississippi.

SMU has 18 pledges.

Justin Penn, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound outside linebacker from Bassfield, Miss., has chosen Southern Mississippi.

The Golden Eagles now have 19 pledges for the Class of 2010.

Arkansas has picked up a commitment from offensive lineman Luke Charpentier of John Curtis (River Ridge, La.).

Charpentier, a 6-foot-4, 285-pound prospect, was also offered by Northwestern, SMU, Northern Illinois, Tulane, Southern Mississippi and Louisiana Tech, among others.

"They have got a lot of good things happening here and I want to be part of it," Charpentier told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. "This team is going to be very good in the future and I see them being a championship-caliber team."

The Razorbacks now have 17 pledges.

Golden Eagles gain three-star Brandon Smith for defense

Highly-sought Brandon Smith, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound defensive end/linebacker from Carver (Columbus, Ga.), has decided to play for Southern Mississippi.

Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Miami-Florida and South Carolina were among others offering Smith.

The three-star prospect is the 18th Class of 2010 pledge for the Golden Eagles.

JUCO defensive end Brandon Joiner picks Colorado State

The Rams have added a commitment from 6-foot-4, 230-pound Brandon Joiner of Shoemaker (Killeen, Texas)/Texas A&M/Navarro CC, Texas for the Class of 2010.

He also holds offers from Southern Mississippi, Utah and San Diego State.

Joiner originally signed with Texas A&M in the Class of 2007, but left after one semester.

Colorado State now has 15 pledges.

Junior Tobias Singleton has three early offers

Class of 2011 ESPNU 150 Watch List wide receiver Tobias Singleton (Madison, Miss./Central) is currently holding scholarship offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Southern Miss, ESPN affiliate Web site BullDawgJunction.com reports.

Additionally, programs including Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Texas Tech are also showing interest.

Singleton shared what he's seeking, "I am looking for a program that passes and runs the ball. I know I have to improve my blocking and learn to stay on my blocks more, and that is my main weakness right now. But I like to run the ball now and then, too. So I am looking for a school that does both well."

This fall, he's caught 43 passes for 627 yards and 10 touchdowns while also rushing for another score.
