A 6-foot-4, 215-pound defensive end from Palo Verde (Las Vegas, Nev.), Daniel Godkin has given a commitment to the Wolf Pack.

He has other offers from Navy and UNLV.

Godkin tallied an electronically-timed 4.93 40-yard dash, 4.82 20-yard shuttle, 24.4-inch vertical and 40-foot power throw at the Long Beach Nike Combine.

Nevada has five pledges for the Class of 2010.

Midshipmen score three-star defensive lineman Joseph Champaign

From Grayson (Loganville, Ga.), defensive end Joseph Champaign has committed to sign with Navy, ESPN's JC Shurburtt reports.

The 6-foot, 280-pound senior selected the Midshipmen over offers from Stanford, Brigham Young, Air Force and Army.

He posted a 4.95 40-yard dash, 4.46 20-yard shuttle, 8.03 three-cone drill, 29.5-inch vertical and 8-foot-4 broad jump at the Atlanta Under Armour Combine.

Pirates capture outside linebacker Maurice Falls

Credited with 66 tackles and 12 sacks as a junior, Maurice Falls of South Point (Belmont, N.C.) has given a Class of 2010 commitment to East Carolina.

Falls, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound prospect who earned first team all-conference and second team all-area recognition last fall, was also offered by Navy.

"I also visited North Carolina, but when I visited East Carolina, it just felt comfortable," Falls told the Gaston Gazette. "I just liked the coaches and whole atmosphere."

Green Wave nabs defensive help in Jamel Dobbs

Jamel Dobbs of Cedar Grove (Ellenwood, Ga.) has become the ninth Class of 2010 commitment for Tulane.

The 6-foot-1, 240-pound defensive end was also recruited with offers from Maryland, Toledo and Navy.

"I like the coaching staff," Dobbs told the Times-Picayune. "I feel that they are more about education and academics, and athletics, rather than just athletics. They have a real high graduation rate."

Dobbs was credited with 69 tackles and 13 sacks during his junior season.

Wyoming gains quarterback C.J. Bennett from Florida

C.J. Bennett, a 5-foot-11, 200-pound quarterback from Alonso (Tampa, Fla.), has picked the Cowboys.

Bennett, who passed for 3,017 yards and 29 touchdowns as a junior, was also offered by Navy.

Wyoming now has eight commitments for the Class of 2010.

He told the Daily Progress, "I talked my coaches, my mom and my uncles and all the questions were already answered. We all loved the university."

Bobcats claim in-state receiver for first commitment

Chase Cochran, a 6-foot-1, 165-pound wideout from Lebanon, Ohio, has pledged to Ohio for the Class of 2010.

Also offered by Air Force and Navy, Cochran totaled 45 receptions for 1,005 yards as a junior.

"It's pretty exciting. I'm glad to get it out of the way," Cochran told the Dayton Daily News. "I went on vacation with the family to relax and get away from football for a while, then sat down and looked at all of my options."

"Once I thought about it, Ohio was an easy choice. They were the most sincere and truthful coaching staff through the entire process, and I felt very comfortable there. Plus, I think I can get some playing time pretty early there, which was a factor."

At the Cincinnati Nike Combine, he posted an electronically-timed 4.5 40-yard dash, 4.42 20-yard shuttle, 34.5-inch vertical and 91.32 SPARQ.

The 6-foot-3, 275-pound Alford chose the Yellow Jackets over Ohio, Western Michigan and Navy.

Georgia Tech now has six pledges.
