MWC Cowboys snare Texas quarterback Emory Miller for 2010

Quarterback/athlete Emory Miller, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound prospect from Horn (Mesquite, Texas), has committed to Wyoming's Class of 2010.

Air Force and Navy have both offered Miller.

"It was a last-minute thing ... a last-minute offer," Miller told the Laramie Boomerang. "My coaches e-mailed my highlight film to Wyoming, and Coach (Marcus) Arroyo liked it and they came down. I made my visit last weekend, and I liked the town and the coaches."

He threw for 2,685 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions as a senior. Miller also rushed for 727 yards and 11 more scores earning all-district recognition.

6-foot-4, 220-pound Robert Singletary of Kingwood, Texas, has accepted a scholarship offer from the Bears for the Class of 2010.

He was also offered by Army, Navy, UNLV, Louisiana-Monroe, and Miami-Ohio.

Singletary is the younger brother of Texas Tech basketball player Mike Singletary.

Defensive end Daniel Godkin swaps Nevada for Midshipmen

A 6-foot-4, 215-pound defensive end from Palo Verde (Las Vegas, Nev.), Daniel Godkin has given a pledge to Navy after decommitting from the Wolf Pack.

He was also offered by UNLV.

"Navy was just better for my future," he told the Las Vegas Sun. "The coaches and players at Navy are guys of honor, character and integrity. I just fell in love with everything down there. It was a better fit for me."

2011 Bennie Browne getting noticed on the gridiron

6-foot-6, 235-pound junior tight end Bennie Brown (Cincinnati/Walnut Hills) caught 10 passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns during his first season of football this fall and is now receiving some interest, ESPN affiliate Web site Bucknuts.com reports.

He visited Ohio State for its win over Iowa and also made a trip to Indiana this fall. Browne is also looking at Purdue and Navy.

He added, "Typically, I would like to stay close to home, within five hours."
