Jones was also sought by Auburn, Baylor, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech and Louisiana-Monroe.

ESPNU 150 defensive back Ahmad Dixon signs with Baylor

A high four-star prospect, safety Ahmad Dixon of Midway (Waco, Texas) has signed with the Bears for the Class of 2010.

He recently made his fourth commitment by choosing Baylor for the second time.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound standout had pledged to Texas before switching to Baylor. Then he picked Tennessee over Alabama and Auburn. Dixon has recommitted to the Bears after the Lane Kiffin coaching debacle, but also visited Tuscaloosa.

Dixon also had offers from LSU, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Florida and TCU, among others.

Cavaliers dip into Texas for tight end Zach Swanson

Three-star tight end Zach Swanson (Katy, Texas) committed to sign with Virginia Monday night, ESPN's Gerry Hamilton reports.

Swanson, who originally committed to Stanford, picked the Cavaliers over Baylor and Army.

Illinois, Miami-FL, California, Oklahoma State, Colorado, Arkansas, Air Force and Rice also recruited the 6-foot-7, 220-pounder.

The Warriors have added a commitment from Beau Yap, a 6-foot-1, 230-pound defensive end from Kamehameha Schools (Honolulu, Hawaii), for Hawaii's recruiting Class of 2010.

Yap withdrew his recent pledge to Baylor.

Sealii Epenesa, a 6-foot-2 300-pound defensive lineman from Iolani (Honolulu, Hawaii), has committed to the Bruins for the Class of 2010.

Rated as a three-star prospect, he chose the Bruins over Oregon State, Baylor and Hawaii. Washington, Colorado and Texas Tech had also offered.

Rebels capture three-star defensive end Carlos Thompson

Three-star prospect Carlos Thompson of Simmons School (Hollandale, Miss.), has chosen Mississippi for the Class of 2010.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound standout chose Ole Miss over Mississippi State, Baylor, Memphis, North Carolina, Southern Mississippi and Vanderbilt.

"He really liked the atmosphere at Ole Miss," said his dad and high school coach Carlos Thompson Sr. "He looked at the depth chart, saw he would have a chance to contribute pretty soon and just really got along with coach (Houston) Nutt, coach (Tyrone) Nix and coach (Terry) Price," the Clarion-Ledger reports.

He was a Second Team Class 2A All-State selection as a senior.

Prior to his senior season, Thompson posted an electronically-timed 4.95 40-yard dash, 4.55 20-yard shuttle, 25-inch vertical, 38-foot power throw and 89.16 SPARQ.

From Rutherford (Panama City, Fla.), lineman Sean Watson has pledged to Florida Atlantic's recruiting Class of 2010.

A 6-foot-3, 270-pound defensive tackle, he was also sought by Arkansas, Baylor, East Carolina, Florida International and Toledo.

Junior defensive tackle Quincy Russell (San Antonio, Texas/Sam Houston) is currently holding a scholarship offer from Baylor, ESPN affiliate Web site InsideTexas.com reports.

He has been invited to attend Texas Tech's junior day and the Red Raiders are expected to offer.

Other junior day invitations include Texas and Oklahoma State for the 6-foot-3, 280-pound prospect.

6-foot-2, 280-pound Midwest City (Oklahoma City, Okla.) defensive tackle Dominique Jones, who recently parted ways with Arizona, has pledged to the Bears for the Class of 2010.

The three-star prospect had committed to the Wildcats in December, but was later informed his position scholarship had actually been filled.

Jones also considered Kansas State. He also has offers from Kansas, Missouri, Louisville, Tulsa and Colorado State.

Baylor has received a Class of 2010 commitment from 6-foot-3, 210-pound defensive end prospect Clarence Lee of Jefferson, Texas.

Lee, who decommitted from Houston, was also offered by Kansas State, Missouri, Tulsa, UTEP and Louisiana Tech.
