"South Carolina and Clemson are my top two schools right now," Townsend said. "Clemson is still my leader, but I'm looking forward to watching the game (SC/Clem). That will have an impact on what I'm thinking, it won't make me think about committing or anything like that but it will give me an idea of both programs and it will have an impact on who is at the top and stuff like that."

Quan Bray, RB

Hogansville, GA

Callaway High School

Scouts Grade: ESPNU 150 Watch List

Quan Bray has five programs showing him most attention

Class of 2011 ESPNU 150 Watch List running back Quan Bray (Hogansville, Ga./Callaway) discussed the early stages of his recruitment with ESPN affiliate Web site CrimsonConfidential.com.

Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, North Carolina, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Southern Miss, Stanford, Tennessee, and West Virginia are just a few of the schools to offer.

"Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, and Auburn are recruiting me the hardest probably right now. Even though I'm wide open and have no leader, those schools have been in touch with me the most," Bray said.

"I'm focused on the playoffs, the recruiting will take care of itself down the road. I'm going to wait it out until this summer probably before I name any leaders," he added.

Bray plays quarterback in Callaway's veer system.

Watch List tight end Jay Rome names early top four

Class of 2011 prospect Jay Rome (Valdosta, Ga.) revealed an early list of favorites for ESPN affiliate Web site NoleInsider.com.

"Recruiting is going real well right now," said Rome. "Nothing really new is happening, but there are a few schools standing out. Clemson Florida, Georgia, and Florida State are all looking really strong. I would say those are my top four. I think I'm around 14 or 15 offers."

"Clemson is probably leading," he continued. "That would be safe to say. My father did play at Clemson, but that is not the only reason. I never really had a favorite school growing up. They are ahead, but not by too much."

Additionally, Rome shared what he's looking for, "First of all I want to make sure I go to a school that I can get a good education. I want to make sure I can go and graduate with a successful degree. Then I am looking at how the schools use the tight ends in their offense."

C.J. Uzomah, QB

Suwanee, GA

North Gwinnett High School

Scouts Grade: ESPNU 150 Watch List

Peach State junior C.J. Uzomah up to 15 offers

Class of 2011 ESPNU 150 Watch List quarterback / athlete C.J. Uzomah (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett) has received 15 scholarship offers, ESPN affiliate Web site InsideTheU.com reports.

His list including Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Miami-FL, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Maryland, North Carolina, Oklahoma State and South Florida.

InsideTheU adds that Uzomah is being recruited by most schools as an athlete. "I'm not sure [what position I want to play] honestly," said Uzomah. "It's a toss up. However I can help the college."

Uzomah, who hopes to study pre-law or psychology in college, shared what he's looking for in a school, "I remember someone telling me that it's good to have a good stadium, but you only play half your games there. I think having a good educational background is great, a place you will be comfortable for four years, a great coaching staff, a good foundation, I think all of those play a key factor."

Playing under center this fall, he's completed 63-percent of his attempts for 1,427 yards and 12 touchdowns. As a sophomore he caught 13 passes for 284 yards and five touchdowns.

David Amerson, S

Greensboro, NC

Dudley Senior High School

Scouts Grade: 79

Position Rank: 14

North Carolina State wins fight with Irish for four-star David Amerson

Safety Davis Amerson of Dudley (Greensboro, N.C.) has given a Class of 2010 pledge to the Wolfpack over Notre Dame.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound athlete also considered Clemson and Virginia Tech. Among many others were LSU, Duke, Louisville, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

ESPN's Bill Conley added, "North Carolina State was able to keep one of the top in-state players at home with the verbal commitment from safety David Amerson from Greensboro. Amerson chose the Wolfpack over a long list of schools but it came down to a two way battle at the end between N.C. State and Notre Dame. Amerson is the 16th commitment for the Wolfpack and the fourth defensive back in the class."

"Amerson is a tall and lean safety that has all the tools to be a special player at the next level. He is instinctive and rangy as a true free safety. He breaks quickly on the pass and displays excellent ball skills when going up to make a play on the pass. Amerson is also a very sound openfield tackler that closes quickly on the ball carrier."
