Junior ESPNU 150 Watch List defender Ishaq Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y./Lincoln) is currently holding offers from Syracuse, Rutgers, Pitt and Maryland and is receiving interest from Penn State, ESPN affiliate Web site NittanyNetwork.com reports.

Three factors will be key in his decision; good academics, the program's ability to get him to the next level and proximity to home.

Williams, who registered 11 sacks as a junior, has taken summer classes and hopes to enroll early.

Canes snare Miami Carol City wideout Allen Hurns

Three-star wide receiver Allen Hurns of Miami Carol City (Miami, Fla.) has made his college decision for Miami-Florida.

He chose the Canes over Pittsburgh and West Virginia. He also has offers from Central Florida, Florida International and Mississippi.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect finished his junior year with 23 receptions for 440 yards and four touchdowns. He underwent knee surgery early in his senior season and is currently rehabbing.

Miami-Florida now has 25 pledges for the Class of 2010.

Three-star pass-catcher Bobby Swigert selects Boston College

Bobby Swigert (Louisville, Ohio) has committed to sign as part of Boston College's Class of 2010, NittanyNetwork.com's Bill Kurelic reports.

The 6-foot, 175-pound wide receiver picked the Eagles over schools such as Michigan, Stanford, Nebraska and Pittsburgh.

Other programs including Indiana, Cincinnati, Wisconsin, Colorado, Syracuse, Ball State, Bowling Green, Miami-OH, Akron, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Central Michigan and Toledo also offered.

Swigert tore ligaments in his right foot and underwent season-ending surgery following the fourth game of his senior season, the Akron Beacon Journal reports. He played quarterback this fall completing 71 of 123 attempts for 760 yards and seven touchdowns. He also rushed for 126 yards and one more score.

As a junior, Swigert caught 58 passes for 732 yards (12.6 average) and six touchdowns. Swigert also returned two kickoffs, two punts and two interceptions for touchdowns last fall earning second team Division II recognition.

Cullen Christian (Pittsburgh/Penn Hills) added Ohio State to his top group of Pittsburgh, UCLA, Michigan and West Virginia after the Buckeyes extended an offer. Now Christian has ranked his top five, ESPN affiliate Web site EerSports.com reports.

"In order, I would say, Michigan, West Virginia, UCLA, Ohio State and Pitt," he said.

Christian is expected to announce his decision Nov. 24th.

Jameel Poteat already holding several offers

Class of 2011 ESPNU 150 Watch List running back Jameel Poteat (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) is in possession of double-digit scholarship offers, ESPN affiliate Web site Bucknuts.com reports.

Pitt, Iowa, Illinois, Rutgers, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, Boston College, Northwestern, Duke, Akron and Buffalo offers are already in-hand.

"And a lot of other schools are about to offer," he added. "Florida State, Miami, UCLA, Cal, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Penn State, Ohio State, said they want to see film and have a lot of interest."

Poteat, the cousin of Cleveland Browns defensive back Hank Poteat, rushed for 1,459 yards and 20 touchdowns as a sophomore.

Ohio athlete Kurtis Drummond decides for Michigan State

6-foot-2, 195-pound safety Kurtis Drummond of Hubbard, Ohio, has given the Spartans a Class of 2010 commitment.

Among his other major offers were Boston College, Cincinnati, Indiana, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Syracuse and Louisville.

Drummond gave reasons for his decision to the Tribune Chronicle, "The coaching staff and the fan support. It's a privilege to play in the Big Ten, but I really didn't look into the conference as much as I did the program.''

Drummond, a three-star prospect, is the 14th pledge for Michigan State.

Cleveland quarterback Mark Myers commits to Pittsburgh

The Panthers have landed St. Ignatius (Cleveland, Ohio) quarterback Mark Myers for the Class of 2010. Myers picked Pittsburgh over offers from Toledo and Ball State.

"Pitt uses the same facilities as the Steelers do," Myers told the Plain Dealer. "The facilities are very impressive, maybe the best in the nation, but that's not the main reason I chose Pitt."

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound prospect is the second player from St. Ignatius to commit to the Panthers in the Class of 2010, joining tight end Brendan Carozzoni.

Pittsburgh now has 21 pledges.

Nittany Lions offer junior Maika Polamalu

Class of 2011 ESPNU 150 Watch List athlete Maika Polamalu (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) received a scholarship offer from Penn State prior to last weekend's loss to Iowa, ESPN affiliate Web site NittanyNetwork.com reports.

He named some other schools that figure to be in the mix, "I'm interested in all the schools that have been in contact. Penn State, Pitt, Virginia, Rutgers, UCLA, Illinois, LSU, Colorado and Clemson are schools I've heard from."

Polamalu's father, Alatoa, played for Penn State and graduated in 1988. His mother also graduated from Penn State. Cousin Troy Polamalu played for Southern Cal and is currently a star safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Last fall he carried 185 times for 1,322 yards (7.1 average) and 18 touchdowns while also posting 247 receiving yards earning first team all-conference recognition.

Three-star Sherard Cadogan (Cherry Hill, N.J./Camden Catholic) has already made official visits to Pittsburgh and Wisconsin and is set to visit West Virginia for the Mountaineers' nationally-televised Thursday night ESPN game, ESPN affiliate Web site EerSports.com reports.

After checking out West Virginia, Cadogan is slated to make an official to South Carolina Oct. 10th for the Gamecocks contest with Kentucky. He's then scheduled to experience Michigan State Oct. 24th when the Spartans play Iowa.

Tar Heels land highly-sought 2010 receiver Brendon Felder

Brendon Felder, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound wideout from Gateway (Monroeville, Pa.), has accepted a scholarship offer from North Carolina.

A heralded transfer from St. John's Prep (Danvers, Mass.), Felder chose the Heels over Pittsburgh, Boston College and Illinois. His 14 offers also included UConn, Maryland, Syracuse and Cincinnati.

Felder told the Tribune-Review he selected UNC because of, "the atmosphere. At North Carolina, they come together like a family."

As a junior, he ran for 500 yards and 14 touchdowns, and caught 28 passes for 545 yards and two touchdowns. He had over 40 tackles at cornerback on defense.

The Tar Heels now have 10 commitments.
