DeAnthony Arnett names three favorites and a top eight

Wide receiver DeAnthony Arnett (Saginaw, Mich.) told ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com, "My top three schools are USC, Notre Dame and Michigan State. Four-through-eight, not in any particular order - Oregon, Michigan, Tennessee, Cincinnati and Iowa."

The ESPNU 150 Watch List talent also shared what he's looking for, "I just want to see if they're real with me and not sugar-coating anything. Getting a chance to play early. I think I have the talent where I can get in there early."

"As far as the school, education is the number one priority. I also want to play in a pro-style offense or some typer of a spread offense where they get the ball to the playmakers."

Last fall, he caught 41 passes for 875 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Alex Smith makes another switch, now on board with Kentucky

Three-star tight end Alex Smith (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) has decommitted from North Carolina and is now set to sign with Kentucky, ESPN affiliate Web site KentuckyInk.com reports.

"My biggest thing is playing early at whatever school I go to," Smith said. "I feel I will at Kentucky. I had a lot of faith in Coach Phillips and Coach Brooks, but with Coach Phillips getting the head-coaching job, and with them graduating three senior tight ends, the big need for them is a tight end. They have always recruited me hard since my sophomore year."

Smith originally committed to Cincinnati under former head coach Brian Kelly. Wisconsin, Michigan, LSU, Miami-FL, N.C. State, Purdue, Indiana, Tennessee, Illinois, Penn State, West Virginia and Ohio State were among his other offers.

The Orangemen have landed a Class of 2010 pledge from 6-foot-4, 260-pound Micah Robinson of John Adams (Cleveland, Ohio).

Robinson was also sought by Cincinnati, Kansas, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Akron, Bowling Green, Toledo and Western Michigan.

Cincinnati standout Dominique Brown set for the Cardinals

Winton Woods (Cincinnati, Ohio) quarterback/athlete Dominique Brown has committed to Louisville for the Class of 2010.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Brown had originally pledged to Cincinnati, but decommitted after coach Brian Kelly left for Notre Dame in December. He also considered an offer from Ohio State and interest from Georgia Tech.

Brown, the Division II state offensive co-player of the year, helped lead the Warriors to a Division II state title by passing for 723 yards and seven touchdowns. He also rushed for 1998 yards and 32 touchdowns.

Indianapolis receiver Anthony McClung cuts Cards for Bearcats

Cincinnati has gained Anthony McClung, a three-star wideout from Pike (Indianapolis, Ind.), for the Class of 2010.

The 6-foot-0, 160-pound prospect decommitted from Louisville. As a senior, he had 45 receptions for 649 yards and seven touchdowns.

Among his other offers were West Virginia, Akron and Ball State.

McClung joins prep receiver teammate Dyjuan Lewis as pledges for the Bearcats.

Quarterback Luke Massa follows Brian Kelly to South Bend

Luke Massa (Cincinnati/St. Xavier) decommitted from Cincinnati for Notre Dame during an official visit to campus this weekend, ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com reports.

"The big thing for Luke and with my program at St. Xavier, is to make sure he contacted the University of Cincinnati," coach Steve Specht said. "Yes he met with coach Kelly this morning, committed and fulfilled a lifelong dream of playing football for them."

Massa completed 67-percent of his attempts this fall for 1,800 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Touted North Canton running back Erick Howard zips to Akron

Three-star running back Erick Howard of Hoover (North Canton, Ohio), who recently captured his second consecutive Mr. Football award for Ohio, has committed to Akron for the Class of 2010.

Illinois, Colorado, Cincinnati, Kent State and Toledo also offered.

The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Howard rushed for 2387 yards as a junior and scored 34 total touchdowns. As a senior, he ran for 2056 yards and scored 27 touchdowns.

Howard joins former Euclid High School star Robert Smith as the only two time winners of the prestigious honor. Smith, who won the award in 1988 and 1989, went on to an outstanding career with Ohio State and the NFL Minnesota Vikings.

Tar Heels lure Tre Boston from Bearcats

Three-star athlete Tre Boston (North Fort Myers, Fla.) has changed his commitment from Cincinnati to North Carolina, the News-Press reports.

"We are all very excited about this great opportunity for Tre," North coach Barry Goettemoeller said. "He has done a great job in the classroom and on the football field, to put himself in a position to continue his education and play football at the next level, and beyond."

Boston, who originally committed to former Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly, also received scholarship offers from Michigan State, Minnesota, Purdue, Pittsburgh, Indiana, Iowa State, Marshall and Middle Tennessee State.

Nittany Lions add athlete Shyquawn Pullium to commitment list

Recruited as a cornerback, Shyquawn Pullium of Cathedral Prep (Erie, Pa.) has accepted a scholarship offer from Penn State for the Class of 2010.

Pittsburgh, Toledo, Maryland, Cincinnati and Miami-Ohio also extended scholarship offers.

"It's a great school academically," he texted to ESPN affiliate Web site NittanyNetwork.com. "And the people there are great. I think it's just the best place for me."

As a senior, he completed 50 of 99 pass attempts (50.1-percent) for 1,062 yards, 14 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for 1,284 yards (10.9 average) and 18 more scores.

Florida running back Tahj Kimble commits to Boston College

A three-star prospect, Tahj Kimble of Fernandina Beach, Fla., has pledged to Boston College for the Eagles' Class of 2010.

Kimble, a 5-foot-11, 200-pound running back, was also recruited by Michigan State, Cincinnati, Purdue, Minnesota, Indiana, Iowa State, Buffalo, Middle Tennessee State, Tulane and Florida Atlantic.

He posted a 4.73 40-yard dash, 4.57 20-yard shuttle, 7.42 three-cone drill, 33.5-inch vertical and 9-foot-4 broad jump at the Jacksonville Under Armour Combine.
