The Tigers have picked up a Class of 2011 commitment from 5-foot-11, 175-pound Anthony Pierson of Gateway (St. Louis, Mo.).

Pierson who rushed for 1300 yards as a junior, is being considered for running back, cornerback or receiver. He has also received an early offer from Kansas State.

From Hickman HS (Columbia, Mo.), Wesley Leftwich has chosen the Tigers for the Class of 2011.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound standout had 17 receptions for 376 yards and five touchdowns as a junior.

Tigers set to sign DL Sheldon Richardson for second time

Missouri has gained a Class of 2011 commitment from Sheldon Richardson, a 6-foot-4, 290-pound defensive lineman from College of the Sequoias, Calif.

Originally from Gateway (St. Louis, Mo.), he chose the Tigers in 2009 an ESPNU 150 prospect.

Tyler Arndt selects Texas State over FBS programs

Tyler Arndt (Cuero, Texas), the No. 32-rated quarterback in the nation, signed with FCS Texas State Wednesday, the San Marcos Daily Record reports.

Missouri, Vanderbilt, TCU, Houston and Rice extended scholarship offers to Arndt.

"Tyler is one those guys who we feel very fortunate in getting when you see the list of schools that offered him," head coach Brad Wright said. "We really feel like he can come in here and be a difference maker right away if he can handle the mental part of it."

Dexter McDonald dumps Illini for Missouri, dumps Tigers for Kansas

A three-star cornerback, Dexter McDonald of Rockhurst (Kansas City, Mo.) has pledged to sign with the Jayhawks' recruiting Class of 2010 after decommitting from the Tigers.

McDonald (6-foot-2, 190-pounds) had been committed to Illinois before making the move to Missouri last week.

He has also been offered by Iowa State.

Three freshmen newcomers enroll early at Missouri

Quarterbacks Tyler Gabbert and James Franklin, and receiver/tight end Eric Waters have signed with the Tigers for the Class of 2010.

All three will be eligible to participate in spring practices.

Gabbert, from Parkway West (Ballwin, Mo.), is the younger brother of MU junior-to-be quarterback Blaine Gabbert. Like his older brother, Gabbert was originally committed to Nebraska, but changed his mind. In 10 games as a senior, Tyler Gabbert completed 109 of 229 passes for 1148 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions. He also ran for 188 yards and two scores.

Franklin, from Lake Dallas, Texas, was named the Texas Class 5-4A MVP. He finished the regular season with 2361 passing yards, 1282 rushing yards and accounted for 41 touchdowns.

Waters, from Summit (Arlington, Texas), caught 24 passes for 362 yards and three touchdowns as a senior.

Kenronte Walker, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound defensive back from Hargrave Military Academy, Va./CC of San Francisco, Calif., signed with Missouri in December. He is originally from Westover (Fayetteville, N.C.).

Three-star linebacker Justin Wilson accepts offer from Spartans

Michigan State has added a Class of 2010 pledge from Justin Wilson, a 6-foot-0, 220-pound linebacker from Western (Davie, Fla.).

He chose the Spartans over Missouri, Purdue, South Florida, TCU, Toledo, Tulsa and West Virginia.

Wilson told ESPN affiliate Web site SpartanTailgate.com, "It was a great place to grow up and go to school, great college atmosphere, and they had everything I wanted. Out of all the schools I've been to, they had the most and they were the best, and being so close to signing day, I chose them."

Wide receiver Carey Fortson of Longview, Texas, has made a Class of 2010 commitment to the Bulldogs.

Programs such as Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, TCU, SMU and North Texas also recruited the 6-foot-0, 165-pound Fortson.

Louisiana receiver Curtis Carter picks the Horned Frogs

Three-star Curtis Carter, a 5-foot-10, 160-pound wideout from North DeSoto (Stonewall, La.), has committed to TCU for the Class of 2010 over Missouri.

Carter recently re-opened his recruitment and dropped his pledge to Nebraska. He was also offered scholarships by Alabama, Mississippi State and Louisiana Tech.

A centerfielder, Carter also intends to play baseball for TCU.

The Horned Frogs now have 14 commitments.

Big 12 Tigers keep four-star WR Marcus Lucas in-state

Marcus Lucas (Liberty, Mo.) has committed to sign as part of Missouri's Class of 2010, according to multiple sources.

Oklahoma, Stanford, Arkansas, Tennessee, Nebraska, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa and Iowa State amongst others also extended scholarship offers.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound senior earned all-state recognition for his performance as a junior and senior.

Lucas is the third four-star commit for Missouri, joining offensive tackles Nick Demien (Wentzville, Mo./Timberland) and Mitch Morse (Austin, Texas/St. Michael's).
