Three-star 6-foot-3, 225-pound outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu of Archbishop Carroll (Washington, D.C.) has committed to Georgia Tech for the Class of 2010.

He chose the Yellow Jackets over Maryland, Illinois, Kansas State, Louisville, Virginia and Syracuse.

"I got to know him while Coach Groh he was at Virginia," Attaochu told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "He's known for his defense and coaching outside linebackers all over the league. I was a defensive end in high school but he felt like I was the right guy to be an outside linebacker. He has three things in his criteria for an outside linebacker: It's being able to beat a tight end, being able to rush the passer and being functional in space. That's how he puts it."

Several other programs including Minnesota, Ohio, Boston College, Temple, East Carolina, Akron and Kent State have also offered.

At the Orlando Nike Combine, Desmond, who is the cousin of Tennessee Titans' defensive end Jevon Kearse, posted an electronically-timed 4.49 40-yard dash, 4.25 20-yard shuttle, 31.3-inch vertical and 35-foot power ball throw.

Rutgers has a very solid class that currently numbers fifteen going into the final stretch before signing day. Waters chose the Knights from an impressive list of more than a dozen schools."

"Waters is a physically impressive defensive back that could very easily grow into an outside linebacker once he gets into a college strength program. He has great range for a big man and closes quickly on run support. He loves physical contact and is an explosive tackler. Waters also displays a real burst when breaking on the intermediate and deep ball. He is truly a complete defensive football player."

Virginia, Minnesota, UConn, Iowa, Kansas State, Duke and New Mexico among others also offered.

Waters is the third three-star commitment of the Scarlet Knights' 2010 class, which currently stands at 16 verbals.
