J.R. Ferguson talks Notre Dame official

ESPNU 150 defensive tackle J.R. Ferguson (Frederick, Md./Hargrave) said after his first trip to South Bend, Ind., "I think Notre Dame still has a chance with me now that I visited, because I never realized how beautiful the campus was, or how good the education is."

The four-star talent has already made an official visit to LSU, has a date with Cal for Dec. 11th, and will set one up with Oklahoma.

He will consider South Carolina, Maryland, North Carolina, Miami-FL, Florida State and UCLA for his fifth official visit.

Ferguson is expected to announce his decision on national signing day.

The 6-foot-3, 275-pound prospect recorded 12 sacks during his senior season.

More schools enter the mix for 2011 Landon Turner

Junior ESPNU 150 Watch List offensive lineman Landon Turner (Harrisonburg, Va.) added some scholarship offers and now has Virginia Tech, North Carolina, West Virginia, Stanford, Maryland and Virginia on the table.

ESPN affiliate Web site NittanyNetwork.com reports that he's also interested in Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan State and Georgia. Turner will consider each of the programs that have offered except Stanford.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder also shared what he's looking for, "I like a good rowdy crowd that's always exciting to be around. Fans are big for me," he said, adding he also wants a diverse, fun campus and a good business school."

Turner did not play as a sophomore after suffering a broken fibula in his left ankle. However, he recovered in time to compete at camps this offseason.

Brooklyn standout Ishaq Williams holding four scholarships

Junior ESPNU 150 Watch List defender Ishaq Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y./Lincoln) is currently holding offers from Syracuse, Rutgers, Pitt and Maryland and is receiving interest from Penn State, ESPN affiliate Web site NittanyNetwork.com reports.

Three factors will be key in his decision; good academics, the program's ability to get him to the next level and proximity to home.

Williams, who registered 11 sacks as a junior, has taken summer classes and hopes to enroll early.

Junior Sean Reaver lists some favorites

Class of 2011 defensive end / tight end Sean Reaver (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) told ESPN affiliate Web site NittanyNetwork.com his top schools are Penn State, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Duke and Maryland.

He's already made unofficial visits to Penn State and Rutgers and has plans to check out West Virginia this fall.

Reaver exploded onto the scene as a sophomore registering 14.5 sacks. This fall, facing double teams, he's been limited to four sacks.

At the Baltimore Nike Combine, he posted an electronically-timed 5.33 40-yard dash, 4.83 20-yard shuttle, 24.6-inch vertical and 36-foot power throw.

2011 Maurice Harris, cousin of Keenan Allen, gaining interest

Junior ESPNU 150 Watch List prospect Maurice Harris (Greensboro, N.C./Northern Guilford), cousin of Alabama commit Keenan Allen, is already holding multiple scholarship offers, ESPN affiliate Web site CrimsonConfidential.com reports.

Alabama, California, Clemson, Duke, Maryland, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Wake Forest and Oregon (verbal offer) are all pursuing Harris.

His father, Maurice Harris Sr., said, "I know that Maurice and Keenan have pretty much played everything together since they were little. That (playing together at Alabama) could certainly be in the future for Maurice. He is focused on making the right decisions and working hard in the classroom so one day he'll be able to go to school and play ball."

Badgers reach down to Florida for defensive back Peniel Jean

A 5-foot-10, 185-pound defensive back, Peniel Jean of Palm Beach Central (Wellington, Fla.) has pledged to Wisconsin of the Big Ten.

He also considered offers from Maryland, Buffalo, UConn, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Marshall, Middle Tennessee State, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan.

"I bonded with the players and coaches," Jean told the Palm Beach Post. "I felt real comfortable and I believe they?re going to take care of me when I get up there."

The Badgers now have 18 commitments for the Class of 2010.

Tony Grimes narrows list of 30 offers down to final five

Four-star cornerback Tony Grimes (Hollywood, Fla.) is now only considering Michigan, Ole Miss, Maryland, West Virginia and Oregon, ESPN affiliate Web site EerSports.com reports.

Grimes also shared his No. 1 factor for the decision, "I want to pick a school that is going to put me in a position to succeed at the next level."

Maryland has received his only official visit to date, but Grimes has scheduled a trip to Michigan for Nov. 28th and plans to check out West Virginia once his season is over. He ultimately plans to end the process on national signing day.

Watch Lister K.J. Brent has in-state school on top

Junior ESPNU 150 Watch List wide receiver K.J. Brent (Waxhaw, N.C./Marvin Ridge) revealed his early leaders to ESPN affiliate Web site TheBigSpur.com.

"South Carolina and North Carolina are my top schools," Brent said. "North Carolina would be out in front because I have gotten to know them better, but it is really close."

Duke and East Carolina have also offered along with the Tar Heels and Gamecocks. Virginia and Maryland are showing interest as well.

Brent also shared what he's seeking, "I'm looking for a good coaching staff. Academics will be my main concern. I will look at graduation rates and they need to have a journalism school. I also want to know from the coaches what their expectations are out of my. My dream was to make my decision before my junior year but I don't know about that now. It is a really tough decision and I just don't know."

Peach State junior C.J. Uzomah up to 15 offers

Class of 2011 ESPNU 150 Watch List quarterback / athlete C.J. Uzomah (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett) has received 15 scholarship offers, ESPN affiliate Web site InsideTheU.com reports.

His list including Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Miami-FL, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Maryland, North Carolina, Oklahoma State and South Florida.

InsideTheU adds that Uzomah is being recruited by most schools as an athlete. "I'm not sure [what position I want to play] honestly," said Uzomah. "It's a toss up. However I can help the college."

Uzomah, who hopes to study pre-law or psychology in college, shared what he's looking for in a school, "I remember someone telling me that it's good to have a good stadium, but you only play half your games there. I think having a good educational background is great, a place you will be comfortable for four years, a great coaching staff, a good foundation, I think all of those play a key factor."

Playing under center this fall, he's completed 63-percent of his attempts for 1,427 yards and 12 touchdowns. As a sophomore he caught 13 passes for 284 yards and five touchdowns.

Lorenzo Waters shakes up top group

Three-star safety Lorenzo Waters (Hyattsville, Md./DeMatha) previously named Miami, Michigan, Maryland and Wake Forest as his top schools. ESPN affiliate Web site InsideTheU.com reports that he has made some adjustments.

"I haven't cancelled anybody out but I know I'm really interested in Miami, Wake Forest, Michigan, Rutgers, and Virginia Tech. Maryland is still in the picture because of the distance and I've had relatives go there, but I'm not sure about them now."

Waters has not taken any official visits but has one trip planned for the Cal. His teammate, offensive lineman Arie Kouandjio, is being heavily recruited by the Bears.
