Aggies land high three-star running back D.J. Jones of Denison

A 6-foot-0, 210-pound running back, D.J. Jones of Denison, Texas, has picked Texas A&M for the Class of 2010. Among others offering were Arkansas, Baylor, Florida, Kansas, Texas Tech and SMU.

ESPN's Billy Tucker added, "The Aggies have landed a top-25 national back in our eyes, Jones is not overly flashy as a runner but he's extremely productive and projects well at the college level. He has a strong, sturdy frame and good body composition to remain durable and carry the load for A&M. We like his quickness and patience through the hole and ability to burst through the small creases. Jones does lack game-breaker speed and elusiveness in the second level but he can earn good yards after contact, catch the ball out of the backfield, pick up the blitz and develop into an every-down back in College Station."

"The Aggies are certainly adding quality depth at the running back position, Jones joins Ben Malena (Cedar Hill, Texas) another well-rounded, consistent back in this class. A&M continues to build a deep, quality class that is on tract to land in top-15 come signing day."

Jones rushed for 2,257 yards and 34 touchdowns as a senior earning a second team Class 4A All-State selection. He was also named to the all-state team as a junior after posting 2,240 yards and 32 scores.
