Linebacker Perry Cooper (The Woodlands, Texas) has committed to UNLV, ESPN's Gerry Hamilton reports.

Cooper selected the Rebels over a scholarship offer from Buffalo.

Hurricanes continue to add out-of-state recruits in Gaines

James Gaines, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound linebacker from Canisius (Buffalo, N.Y.), has committed to Miami-Florida for the Class of 2010.

Gaines, who had decommitted from Buffalo following the coaching change, has also been offered by Syracuse and Connecticut.

He made an official visit to campus this weekend. Fellow Miami pledge Kelvin Cain (Clovis, Calif./Buchanan), told ESPN affiliate Web site InsideTheU.com, "We were trying to convince him and he ended up committing so I guess we did a good job with that."

Gaines was all over the field as a senior registering 154 tackles, three sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery. On offense, he caught 15 passes for 270 yards (18 average) and two touchdowns.

Marshall receives a 2010 pledge from linebacker Hans Louis

Hans Louis, a 5-foot-11, 205-pound linebacker from Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood, Fla.), has committed to Marshall.

He had also drawn offers from West Virginia, Western Kentucky and Buffalo.

Louis was named Broward County defensive player of the year after turning in 16 sacks and three interceptions as a senior.

Senior offensive tackle Chad Kolumber (Woodberry Forest, Va.) committed to sign with Kansas Sunday, ESPN affiliate Web site TheShiver.com reports.

Buffalo and Marshall also offered the 6-foot-7, 285-pound prospect. Wisconsin showed interest.

The Falcons have picked up a Class of 2010 commitment from Ryland Ward of Brookhaven (Columbus, Ohio).

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound defensive back also considered offers from Akron, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State and Ohio.

Bowling Green now has 19 pledges.

Jordan Leslie, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound receiver from Tomball, Texas, has chosen UTEP for the Class of 2010.

Arizona, Buffalo, Houston and Tulsa also made offers.

As a senior, Leslie had 61 receptions for 796 yards and nine touchdowns.

Western Kentucky lands St. Petersburg linebacker Bar'ee Boyd

Bar'ee Boyd, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound outside linebacker from Lakewood (St. Petersburg, Fla.), has accepted a Class of 2010 offer from the Hilltoppers.

His brother, Xavius, has also picked Western Kentucky.

Bar'ee also had offers from Buffalo, Colorado State, Florida International and Tulane.

The Owls have a commitment from linebacker Niyi Adewole of Upper Darby HS (Upper Darby, Pa.) for the Class of 2010.

Adewole (6-foot-2, 220-pounds), originally from Nigeria, was also considering Akron, Buffalo, Columbia and Vanderbilt.

Cornerback Devonta Tabannah of Potomac (Oxon Hill, Md.) has selected is headed to the Lobos of the Mountain West Conference.

The 5-foot-10, 165-pound prospect also had offers from Western Michigan, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Ohio, Akron and Kent State.

New Mexico has six commitments.
