The 6-foot-3, 255-pound prospect was also offered by Akron.

6-foot-3, 180-pound wideout Brandon Atwell has accepted a Class of 2010 scholarship offer from Ohio.

He is from George Wythe (Wythville, Va.)

JUCO lineman Jeff Howie gives pledge to Mississippi State

The Bulldogs added a commitment from Itawamba CC, Miss., defensive lineman Jeff Howie for the Class of 2010.

A 6-foot-3, 320-pound prospect originally from Chester, Pa., he also considered Louisiana-Monroe, Ohio, South Florida, Southern Miss, Troy and Western Kentucky.

He told ESPN affiliate Web site BullDawgJunction.com, "I had a great talk with Coach (Dan) Mullen. Man, I am so pumped right now and ready to get after it. It's the SEC and that's awesome and crazy to think about. I was supposed to visit South Florida next weekend but I doubt I make that trip now. Mississippi State was my best offer and the best situation for me."

Alabama-Birmingham lands running back Greg Franklin

From Marietta HS (Marietta, Ga.), running back Greg Franklin has committed to the Blazers for the Class of 2010.

The 6-foot-0, 180-pound back was also sought by Troy, Ohio and North Carolina State.

Franklin informed the Birmingham News that some schools recruited him to play defense but the Blazers recruited him as a running back, "That's one reason I chose UAB."

He rushed for over 1,500 yards and 18 touchdowns during his senior campaign.

Defensive lineman Brandon Sparrow gives pledge to the Herd

From Liberty (Bedford, Va.), defensive lineman Brandon Sparrow has accepted an offer from Marshall for the Class of 2010

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Sparrow was also offered by Ohio.

"Everything went really, really well," Sparrow told the Charleston Daily Mail "The town, just the fact that it's all about the football team and the school. I just loved it. Everybody was super nice to us."

Columbus defensive back Ryland Ward to join Bowling Green

The Falcons have picked up a Class of 2010 commitment from Ryland Ward of Brookhaven (Columbus, Ohio).

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound defensive back also considered offers from Akron, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State and Ohio.

Bowling Green now has 19 pledges.

MAC Falcons scoop up Bryan Thomas from Washington, Pa.

Bryan Thomas, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound defensive end from Washington, Pa., has agreed to be part of Bowling Green's Class of 2010.

Akron, Ohio and Toledo have also offered.

The Class AA First Team All-State selection made 60 tackles and recovered three fumbles as a senior. He also caught 17 passes for 313 yards and five touchdowns.

The Falcons now have 18 commitments.

A 6-foot-4, 270-pound offensive lineman for Anderson (Cincinnati, Ohio), Greg Mancz has committed to the Rockets for the Class of 2010.

Mancz chose Toledo over offers from Ohio and Air Force.

A 6-foot-5, 280-pound offensive tackle, Simon Cvijanovic of Benedictine (Cleveland, Ohio) has accepted an offer from Illinois of the Big Ten.

He was also offered by Bowling Green, Ohio and Toledo.
