Seantrel Henderson commits to USC, waiting to sign letter of intent

Five-star offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham) made a verbal commitment to the Trojans Wednesday night.

However, Sean Henderson, Seantrel's father, informed the New York Times that his son will wait to sign a letter of intent until after USC appears before the NCAA infractions committee beginning Feb. 19th.

The NCAA and Pacific 10 Conference are investigating reports that former USC Trojan and current New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush received improper benefits from sports marketers in 2005.

Henderson, the nation's No. 1-rated offensive lineman, has until April 1st to sign.

Safety Eric Dungy picks the Ducks following official visit

Eric Dungy (Tampa, Fla./Plant), son of former NFL head coach Tony Dungy, committed to Oregon Monday after making an official visit to campus, ESPN affiliate Web site DuckTerritory.com reports.

"Oregon's a first class school. They do it all well, including academics. The academic center is crazy, the stadium, facilities, it's all very nice. I really like coach Frost, he seems like a great guy and is a good christian man," Eric said.

"My dad really liked it too, he felt I made a really good choice. He likes how they do things, he believes I will have a great future at Oregon. The choice was left up to me, and we both felt good about it in the end. He told me no matter what it's up to me now, I need to put forth the effort."

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound senior also officially visited Florida State which offered Dungy as a grayshirt. South Florida, Minnesota, Central Florida and Florida International also extended scholarship offers.

Minnesota has picked up a Class of 2010 pledge from cornerback Dwight Tillman of Lackawanna CC, Pa.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect is originally from Western Tech (Baltimore, Md.).

He joins Lackawanna teammate tight end Tiree Eure in joining the Gophers.

Rated a three-star wideout, Chris Hawkins of Channelview, Texas, has pledged to TCU for the Class of 2010.

The 6-foot-1, 165-pound standout had originally picked Minnesota of the Big Ten.

Hawkins, who had more than 20 other offers, was also sought by Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Nebraska, Tulsa and Utah, among others.

As a senior, he had 27 receptions for 656 yards (24.3 average) and 10 touchdowns.

Florida running back Tahj Kimble commits to Boston College

A three-star prospect, Tahj Kimble of Fernandina Beach, Fla., has pledged to Boston College for the Eagles' Class of 2010.

Kimble, a 5-foot-11, 200-pound running back, was also recruited by Michigan State, Cincinnati, Purdue, Minnesota, Indiana, Iowa State, Buffalo, Middle Tennessee State, Tulane and Florida Atlantic.

He posted a 4.73 40-yard dash, 4.57 20-yard shuttle, 7.42 three-cone drill, 33.5-inch vertical and 9-foot-4 broad jump at the Jacksonville Under Armour Combine.

A 6-foot-2, 260-pound offensive lineman, Josh Allen of Cedar Hill, Texas, who recently decommitted from Minnesota, has pledged to Louisiana-Monroe for the Class of 2010.

The three-star prospect, facing a possible redshirt freshman year with the Gophers, also considered Louisiana Tech and New Mexico State, among others.

"It was just the overall feeling I got from the campus and the coaches," Allen told the News Star. "Academically, it's what I needed. The football program is headed in the right direction. It just felt right."
