Editor's note: ESPN.com's Mel Kiper Jr. begins his look at key players on Division I-A teams with his lists of the five most important players for each team in Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference. (Schools listed in alphabetical order).

Duke Blue Devils
1. Ben Patrick, TE, jr. – A tremendous athlete with great hands and a good feel for getting open, Patrick's 6-foot-4, 273-pound frame is imposing in the middle of the field.
2. John Talley, CB, jr. – One of the best cornerbacks in the nation. Talley had four picks last season and at 5-10½, 182, he has the size to match up with bigger receivers.
3. Andy Roland, TE, sr. – Had 20 receptions last season and would be the top tight end for many other teams. He and Patrick give the Blue Devils one of the top TE duos in the nation.
4. Vince Oghobaase, DT, fr. – The 6-6, 325-pounder enrolled at Duke in January and got a head start on his career. He was recruited by Miami and Oklahoma but chose Duke in a huge victory for Ted Roof.
5. Mike Schneider, QB, jr. – A strong-armed passer who has plenty of experience and has seen everything the ACC has to offer, Schneider has a chance to put everything together if he can come through with some measure of consistency.
